About EBC Bacolod
On May 30, 2009, Bacolod City was exposed to its first capoeira workshop, through an invitation by Ms. Kit Cooper to hold a one-day workshop at the Mandala Centering Place. Professor Fantasma and Professor Sapo, who were both teaching in EBC Manila, came to Bacolod to head the workshop. Two more workshops followed after this initial one, which were taught by Professor Sapo and Formada Macaca. On July 13, 2009, the Mandala Centering Place formally started its regular capoeira classes under Professor Sapo.
On February 6, 2010, EBC-Bacolod had its first batizado at the SM Event Center in Bacolod City. Mestre Oscar, Mestre Pano, Professor Pimbal, Professor Cascavel, and Professor Fantasma graced the event, called Brazilipino Cultural Festival. Aside from the batizado, the two-day festival had percussion, samba, and capoeira workshops.
On April 2010, EBC-Bacolod expanded its classes to two venues. Aside from the Mandala Centering Place, classes are now held at the MMB Workshop. It also has an 8-week summer program for kids.
