Formado Pirulito, born Richard Weinbrenner Dacalos, is one of the first homegrown Capoeira teachers in the Philippines. He began his training in 2004 under Mestre Fantasma of Escola Brasileira de Capoeira.
Since then he has trained and attended workshops locally and abroad (the U.S., Singapore, Brazil, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia) under some of the biggest names and masters of Capoeira. He has also been a local and international guest for performances, workshops, events and demonstrations.
Some of his personal achievements include writing the first academic thesis in the Philippines focusing on Capoeira, founding the De La Salle University – Manila Capoeira Club, serving as the moderator for the Ateneo High School Capoeira Club and creating the first ever Tertiary Level Physical Education Program for Capoeira in the Philippines at The One School – Makati.
Outside of Capoeira, he is a social entrepreneur and university professor.
He currently holds regular classes at White Space Wellness – Katipunan.
